AUDITION FOR URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL

Urinetown The Musical

Missoula Community Theatre 2016-17 Season

Missoula, MT—Yes, Urinetown: The Musical may be a terrible name for a show, but it will be a terribly good time for both the cast and the audience! The Missoula Community Theatre is holding an audition for that cast on Sunday, November 20.

Director Joe Martinez is seeking:

7 women and 13 men (ages 18 and up) to play the roles in this “PeeG-13” satirical comedy musical.

In this show, water is reportedly so scarce that bathrooms are banned, and public toilets are regulated by the mega corporation Urine Good Company. People must now pay for “The Privilege to Pee.” The show pokes fun at itself and the subject matter, while humorously exploring what happens when societal power struggles conflict with basic human needs.

The audition on Sunday, November 20 will be held on the third floor of the MCT Center for the Performing Arts from 12:00pm–3:30pm. Please use the Main Street entrance. Some of the featured roles to be cast are narrators Officer Lockstock and Little Sally, lovers Bobby and Hope, the dramatic Penelope Pennywise, CEO Caldwell B. Cladwell, and Officer Barrel. Martinez encourages performers with roller skating skills to audition.

Assisting with the production are choreographer Megan Wiltshire and music director Scott Koljonen. The performance dates are Jan 19-29, 2017.

For questions regarding the audition, or to inquire about a perusal script, please call the MCT Box Office at 406-728-7529, Monday-Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
