Science concept, solar eclipse

Billings, MT—Registration is now open for the Billings Clinic Science Expo that will be held on March 24 and 25, 2017. The application deadline is Friday, February 10, 2017 for high school and Friday, February 24 for grades 1 through 8. Projects do not have to be completed until the Expo in March. The Science Expo theme for 2017 is “In the Path of the Solar Eclipse.”

The Billings Clinic Science Expo is the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) affiliated regional science fair for 24 counties in southeastern Montana. The Science Expo provides a venue to educate youth about scientific and engineering careers and encourage scientifically talented students in grades 1 through 12.

Students are encouraged to apply by going to billingsclinic.com/scienceexpo. Approximately $20,000 in trips, cash prizes, awards, and scholarships are awarded to students of all grade levels. The winning high school project will receive an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the Intel ISEF in May.

There will be a free workshop at Barnes & Noble in Billings on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11am to 1pm for those who are not familiar with the Scientific Method or the Engineering Design Process as well as the ins and outs of the Expo.
